Mission and Values Driving Our Work
Our Mission
Our Values
Bible-Based
We trust the Bible as our guide. It shapes what we believe, how we live, and how we do our work.
Gospel Partnership
We work with others who share our beliefs to spread the gospel and be more effective for God's kingdom.
Gospel-Fueled Generosity
We give joyfully and sacrificially, especially to help vulnerable children, showing Christ’s love through real acts of kindness.
Faith-Driven Simplicity
We rely on the Holy Spirit and aim to be sincere in our ministry. We plan wisely but stay focused on being faithful rather than chasing results.
Who we are
Our Story
Iziko Missions South Africa was born from a deep burden: to see Christ-centred churches planted in the townships and cities of South Africa, led by local leaders and grounded in sound doctrine. Our founder, Sive Nogada, grew up in Khayelitsha—where the gospel changed his life as a teenager. Now, after years of pastoral ministry, theological training, nonprofit leadership, and clear conviction, he is returning home with his family to begin the work.
Why We Exist
After more than 15 years in ministry and community development, Sive has observed a troubling trend: over time, even well-meaning efforts to help the poor, the addicted, or the marginalised can become disconnected from the gospel. Jesus becomes a side note—or disappears entirely—as churches and ministries chase relevance, trends, or pragmatic results.
But the deepest problem every person faces is not poverty, addiction, or injustice. It is sin—a broken relationship with the God who made us. As Jesus said, “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” (Mark 8:36). At Iziko, we believe that offering people worldly solutions without pointing them to the remedy found in Christ is not love—it’s a tragic loss.
That’s why our mission is unapologetically Christ-centred. We don’t hide Jesus. We are not ashamed of the gospel—the good news that Jesus died for your sins on the cross so that you can be eternally reconciled to God and enjoy fellowship with Him forever. And out of that gospel conviction, we also care for the vulnerable, meet physical needs, and pursue mercy ministry.
Meet the Nogadas
Sive and Linku met while serving in ministry and have been married for 11 years. Their shared love for Christ and His Church has shaped their life together—from sports outreach to pastoral work to international missions. Along the way, God blessed them with a joyful, energetic son, Lu. As a family, they’re committed to gospel hospitality, discipleship, and living out the hope of Christ in everyday life.
Having lived in California for over seven years, they will return home to Cape Town to plant a church and lead Iziko Missions full-time. Their aim is not just to build programs but to help others treasure Christ, proclaim His Word, raise leaders, and care for the vulnerable—especially children in at-risk communities.
Our Name
“Iziko” is a Xhosa word for “firepit“—the center of the home, where fire burns and community gathers. We chose this name because we believe the local church should be just that: a place of warmth, truth, and spiritual life, centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ. He alone can provide everlasting light and heart to every heart and community.
Our Team
Founder & President
Sive Nogada
Sive was born and raised in the township of Khayelitsha, South Africa, where he came to know Christ as a teenager through the faithful witness of a local missionary. From early on, he was gripped by a hunger for God’s Word and a deep desire to teach others.
He is a graduate of the 6:4 Pastoral Internship at Doxa Church in California and pastored a church there for over three years. In addition to ministry, he has spent more than six years working in major gifts fundraising within higher education.
Sive holds a BSc in Business Administration from William Jessup University and an MBA from Dominican University of California. He is currently part of The Great Commission Collective’s Church Planter Training, preparing to return home to Cape Town to plant a Christ-centred church and lead Iziko Missions South Africa.
